Spinal Subluxation

Spinal subluxation is when the spinal joints don't move like they should. This can happen when you overuse or misuse your spine as well as things like injury, stress or even poor posture.

With sublaxation, joints can become misaligned which means an unhealthy spine. Ligaments and muscles may be stretched or torn while discs can bulge, rupture or wear down.

You may experience back pain or feel stiff as well as numbness and tingling in your arms and legs.

The joints in your spine allow your bones to move. When the joints are aligned properly, the bones more smoothly which means a healthy spine.

Spinal Degeneration

Your spine can begin to wear out, or degenerate, with years of stress and too much use and abuse. Arthritis (joint inflammation) may result and you may start to feel stiff and experience pain. Seeing a chiropractor can help slow or even stop the process of degeneration.

Your spine is made up of bones, discs and soft tissues such as muscles and ligaments. Your spine supports the weight of your entire body. Pain occurs when one part of the spine has to do too much work.

A misaligned joint can be caused by poor posture, strain and injury. Then your bones don't move as they should, your muscles are stressed and your nerves may become pinched.

Early spinal degeneration happens with repeated stress and when a disc wears down. You may develop bone spur (bony growths), muscles might stretch unevenly and nerves may become irritated and painful.

Advanced spinal degeneration happens when the disc thins further. Your nerves can become pinched, the bones begin to stick together and your ability to move may greatly decrease. This may result in severe pain and lasting numbness.

Disc Syndrome

Disc are strong cushions that separate the bones in your spine. They protect your spine as you move and act as shock absorbers. If one or more discs are damaged, you will need to see a chiropractic to develop a treatment plan.

A healthy disc has a spongy center and a tough outer ring this allows the bones to rock back and forth and side to side with ease.

Your discs can become damaged with repeated strain, an injury or sudden forceful movements. If discs become damaged, they can push on nearby nerves and cause pain, numbness and even tingling in your back, neck, arms and legs.

Both a bulging disc and a ruptured disc, also know as a herniated disc, can be treated by a chiropractic.
